It’s Coming! Introducing the All-New 2019 Chevy Silverado

In the world of full-size pickup trucks, it’s hard to compete with the Chevy Silverado — unless the competition happens to be the all-new 2019 Chevy Silverado! This all-new Silverado has a sleek body that sits on a completely redesigned frame that’s lighter (by as much as 450 lbs.) than its predecessor, which means it’s very likely to save you a little dough at the gas pump. Plus, it’ll turn heads with its style and performance. What more can you ask for in a pickup truck?

Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, which will hit our Lee’s Summit Chevy dealership floors later this year.

Lighter Yet Bigger Than Ever

Despite the fact that they’ve made the Silverado lighter, Chevy engineers have managed to also make it bigger. That translates to more cargo room than ever before, since the extra inches gained equate to additional storage bins underneath the rear seats. It also means more legroom in the back seat, an area that’s too often short on comfort in many pickups — even the full-size versions.

And every Silverado bed — regardless of cab size — gets more than a half-foot wider. The floor is stronger too, thanks to the use of super-high-strength steel. There are 12 stationery tie-downs that come standard, plus an option of adding 9 additional removable hooks for even more convenience. An available key fob-operated tailgate (also accessed by a button inside the cab) makes loading and unloading a snap, too.

Here’s the really cool part: That wider bed makes the Silverado blow the competition out of the water in terms of hauling and payload capacity. Even the short bed offers 63 cubic feet of storage capacity, a number that’s 20% higher than anything offered in other full-size trucks you can buy today.

Choice of Powertrains

Talk about zeroing in on the perfect combination for you! With the 2019 Silverado, Chevy is offering a total of six different powertrain combinations.

Two new gasoline V-8 engines — a 5.3-liter unit and a 6.2-liter — mean improved efficiency thanks to General Motors’ new Dynamic Fuel Management system, which can deactivate between one and seven cylinders based on conditions.

The new addition is a 3.0-liter turbocharged in-line diesel engine. Like the 6.2-liter V8, this turbo diesel will feature stop-start technology and be mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The 5.3-liter engine, on the other hand, will likely pair with either an 8-speed or 10-speed automatic.

The Latest Technology & Touches of Luxury

Chevrolet engineers and designers have refined even the tiniest details, like the texture of the knobs, to make the cabin even nicer and more elegant than ever. The interior is said to be more “classy” and far comfier than ever thanks to the extra inches it has gained, and there’s also enhanced climate controls to keep you feeling comfortable inside no matter what the temperature is outside.

The new Chevrolet Silverado will have all the latest technology you need as a 21st-century driver, such as 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Apple Car Play, Android Auto, and wireless charging. Welcome to the future.
